I’m a day away from packing up my joint exhibition with artist Luca Serafini.

We held it at a fantastic pizzeria in Montegiovi, Il Miccio, with a garden boasting 360 degree views of Monte Amiata and the valley.

But wait… I said pizzeria, right? Absolutely, and who would have thought?

The restaurant and bar are housed in an old school building, so the walls are vast, and a lot of natural light floods in from large windows with views up to the summit. A delightful space for a small exhibition for two local artists. Tania and Vincenzo (pictured) of Il Miccio have been wonderful, accommodating hosts.

It was a good turn out. My friend Alice organised an intimate group of our friends from around the area. Local folk helped Luca and I hang our works. The help, support, and friendship from the attendees and art lovers is so appreciated!
I was more than a little apprehensive at first. Not my first exhibition, but the first one on the mountain. It was a great experience. Out of this exhibition had a number of sales and a contact for a boutique store that I’ll be sending my work down to in the future.
At times it’s the mountain that does the pinching. But in postcards of season like this: summer, balmy, friends, love, cat on lap, pizza on the way, my art on the walls being appreciated and then actually purchased by other human beings…I have to pinch myself at times.
