Wildflowers

,

I’ve been fairly prolific lately with art making and writing but with gorgeous summer weather calling me from the window to revel in its green and flowered beauty, working indoors or in front of a computer hardly feels fair to the soul.

Notwithstanding the insane levels of poplar tree pollen seeking sensitive throat and eyes, I’ve been walking as often as I can. I love my new phone and its divine camera, and I swing between the birdsong, renewed joy in photography, listening to psychology podcasts, and washing myself in the scent of golden ginestra in June.

Happiness is a simple yellow flower repeated a zillionfold across the hills.

  1. Gorgeous broom One of my favourites, though it’s not common in my latitudes!

    1. Oh my favourite, too. Its perfume is so heady. I’d never seen it before I came here.

Lovely to hear from you again Ali. The photos of the wildflowers are gorgeous. Sounds like ‘Shinrin-yoku’ – Forest bathing – good for the soul and spirit. We are on an organised Glamping tour in the Kimberley. NOT for the faint hearted – 11 hours of driving corrugations yesterday but a swim in a fresh water hole surrounded by towering red ochre gorge walls, ferns and palms AND no ‘crocs’ made it worth it. Love n hugs.

    1. Definitely a type of forest bathing…colour bathing?
Oh and I remember long stretches of teeth shaking corrugated roads in Aus to get to the best camp spot. I miss that! Lovely to hear you’re glamping! I have yet to get to the west (and north) of Australia. Very much on the list, post pandemia! Have a wonderful time, lovely Ang. You’re such an adventurous spirit ❤️
