il giro e la luce / the uncoiling and the light

, , ,

tu sei la luce che chiama
alla mia pelle vivente
da dentro la mi’anima
dove ti sei riposato
nei momenti prima
della mia nascita
nello stesso modo che
il seme di girasole
tiene la conoscenza del sole
prima che si sveglia

~ ~ ~

you are the light
that calls to my living skin
from within my soul
where you rested
in the moments before
I was born
in the same way that
the sunflower seed
holds the knowledge of the sun
before it wakes

“Sigh……………” Che bella Ali. Somewhere buried deep in one of the sonnets of Shakespeare he spoke of a love so great; from the heavens, “The Angels sighed” I heard it and have never been able to find it. Sigh on Angels.

    1. Ang did you mean this one?

      Sometimes I think
      Our heads might be enclosed
Closer together upon the pillow’s space,
And how into the dark deeps of your eyes
I’d look and think of angels. Then your breath
And all the aura of your body’s breathing
      Intoxicatedly would overwhelm me
And I would die. For it is too much
That such a thing should be and I should live.
Surely the thought is greater than reality,
The sum of you and love outsteps infinity.

…but can’t think of one by Shakespeare with that exact phrase.

More than likely I have the phrase wrong. The above and the other attachments “Che bella” as well. Grazie mille.
