Most Difficult to Make
I almost put the chased Persian Sphinx or a few stones that I have set…but then I remembered the Curlicue Ring. This is handmade in silver, not cast, so there is little room for error with measuring and making sure that the curls are equal and rounded (this was the first of the rank, and I’ve since perfected it – practice makes perfect, kids!). Not only that but getting the ring shank size right was a challenge because it’s convex (there is a groovy little formula for that, which I’ll share here one of these days) and doesn’t leave much room for error in terms of cutting and filing. Measure twice, cut once.
I made this before I bought my tumbler, so cleaning and polishing it was a pain in the arse (highly recommend a tumbler.
