I’ve been commissioned to make another Ouroboros ring and today the 2D designs and ideas and research for the client transitioned to 3D. Here are photos of my morning’s work in progress. Still a way to go. The mouth has been opened ready for the tail to be inserted. The snake’s head will also be covered in more hand-engraved scales but I need to file it a little more into a snakely shape before and after soldering. The scales will be deeper once the ring itself has been formed, then they will be darked with a firescale and polish patina.
