As I am every year, I had been keen to participate in the National Novel Writing Month (which really ought to be changed to “International” or “Global” – ha! GloNoWriMo – judging by the many tweets from far flung writerlings). However, Novembers past have proven to be stuffed to the hilt with social events that spill out into weekdays. This one’s no different. Does everyone else find November to be a super ridiculously busy month? By Jove, by the 30th I’ll have had a spare whole two days to myself.
Notwithstanding, I still have the urge to attempt the madness that is NaNoWriMo, no matter what the name of the month. I love the idea of writing the wordcount without halting to edit. I’ve been editing my novel all year without having had the chance to write a great deal of anything new, and my Muse has grown pudgy with all that lying around (see picture).
So, while I’ll be working to the beat of my own drum (what’s new) and December is looking considerably tamer, to even consider 30 days in which to write 50,000 words I think I’ll have to aim for January.
NaJaWriMo, anybody?
